Tool's Van's Obituary
Submitted by tool
I am sorry to announce this, but Tool’s van has kicked the can, the cord has been pulled, the brown van has died.

While I was on my way home from my uncle's funeral in Novi MI (just outside of Detroit), I started to hear a hammering sound coming from my engine compartment. I got to the next exit (exit 171 on I-75 in Ohio), and pulled into a gas station/garage. The name of the town is Cygnet, OH, and I was stopping at C&J Automotive. I popped the hood, and checked the oil. The van has always been prone to using a lot of oil, but I had filled it up about 800 miles beforehand in Chicago, so I thought I might be a quart low. It ended up that I was 3 quarts low (aka dry). I added 3 quarts of oil, but to no avail, the engine kept on making a sound like somebody was taking a hammer to the engine block. I went inside C&J Automotive, and talked with Jeff (the J part). He came out and looked at the van and confirmed my worst thoughts. I blew a rod in the engine block. The engine is ruined. I asked how much it might cost, he told me aproximatly $1000 - $2000. Since the van might only be worth a maximum of $3000 or so, I deemed it TOTALED:( My father is handling the situation at this time.

Any ideas or donations for my "next" vehicle will be accepted. You know where to send them. I am thinking about a Subaru wagon with either 4 wheel drive (4WD) or All wheel drive (AWD). I think we all had quite a bit of fun in the ol' van. I will surely miss it. Bye bye van.

Sorry Tool! You have my sympathies! Remember that a grief and mourning period is completely natural. :-)
