Virtual Orientation - 2004 edition
Submitted by thorax
Here's this year's virtual orientation coverage. It looks like they added a feature covering "A Day In the Life" of a fictional first year student named Wendy. (Hopefully she lives in Stuart Complex!) It seems to be part soap opera, part "24".

Why didn't we think of this earlier? We could have come up with a storyline of a guy named Otis, based off the life of Ryan Gorney. :-)

Since 1999, the Virtual Orientation Web site has helped incoming first-year students prepare academically and socially for life at UD.

Really, I remember Zucker and I had to call each other long distance and exchange IM screenames so that we could chat with one another. I sure hope that Wendy will bring more people to the site.

Oh, and by the way... Schade, who was inspired by the Fox counter-espionage hit "24," is writing the series week by week as the story unfolds, literally making it up as she goes along. With a new episode going live every Thursday, "it's a little bit terrifying. I'm used to deadlines, but not of this magnitude with so much riding on it," said Schade, who has an advisory committee providing feedback as the episodes develop. I thought there was almost a golden rule that state you must have everything finished before you launch, but what do I know, right?
