So your Monday doesn't suck
Ever get to work and feel like not doing anything? Good to hear. I do the same thing. Instead of doing actual real work, you should just read this article. It’s a bit of a weekend wrap up for me, but some of you should find it informative. Hey, look at it this way, would you rather read my ramblings, or look over those TPS reports? Anyway, here goes nothing.

Starting with the general stuff… The downloads section is up and running, if you haven’t noticed. There are some pointless downloads there that we here at CFdC thought that you may enjoy. You be pleased to notice that “Grapes in the Key of F”, aka the Fgrapes song, is there along with never-before-seen-special-release-behind-the-scenes outtakes to the recording of Fgrapes. Also available for download are University of Dayton screen savers and background images. You should check them out. They are pretty sweet. These are the ones we used for the 2001 drive image for the freshmen’s computers. On a phunny side note, if you install the screen savers and look under the settings for the screen saver, you’ll notice my name along side of a shameless plug for crazyfarts.com. This would really have been that phunny if it hadn’t been installed on 1,800 computers for the incoming freshmen. This past week proved to be rather non-eventful seeing as how all we did was code web pages. Jim was rather successful in finishing our projects list over on ourTechDev site. Good job Jim. This way we have record of when we have finished projects and we can then compare them to when other people on campus “discover” these “new” ideas. (See also network re-imaging via a single floppy and powercast, network boot disk, NDS TCP/IP boot disk, Active Directory, software.udayton.edu, Digital Media/Streaming Media.) On another side note: Hey Jim, remember when you set up that streaming media server last summer and it worked? Yeah, that was sweet. Remember when they didn’t ask for our help with the new one and it took them 2 months to set it up and it didn’t work? Yeah, well that wasn’t so sweet. Oh well, not our problem. Hence, I digress, just wanted to prove that point. Back on topic of what we got done, I was busy coding pages, so the time went by quickly. I forget what Ryan did all week; you’ll have to ask him. We met the computer installers on Friday; that was quite the treat. We also got to witness the installation scripts in action, or non-action, as they seemed to be rather unsuccessful at their goals. All the bugs out by Monday though with any luck. We got free lunch out of the deal and I was able to put in 8 hours, so it was somewhat good. I came home and slept after work on Friday, waking up at 22.00 hours to go to the Barn and party for a while. Got home form there and went right to bed around 01.00. I woke up around 09.30 Saturday morning and departed for Columbus for a day of visiting. I was going to surprise Ken Fouty and visit him in his new home in Bexley, just outside of Columbus, but to my dismay, he had gone to Toledo for the weekend. Doh. Maybe some other day buddy. I did get to see Kate Brown’s new house, very nice. We went to the City Center and shopped. I bought 2 t-shirts for $1.99 a piece and boxers for $3.99 at the Gap. It ended up costing like $8.43 for those, so it was a rather good deal if I must say so myself. That’s all I bought. Nothing else really interested me. For dinner we went to the Cheesecake Factory. I had a meatloaf sandwich. It was F’n Tasty©. It consisted of a piece of bread, the 3 slices of meatloaf followed by a huge mound of mashed potatoes with onion rings on top of that. The whole thing was like 12” tall. It was really good. After returning from Columbus that night, I ended up going to bed around 00.00 and waking up this morning at 10.30 to go over to Boll and rebuild the wood rack. It was a really goodtime and we got a lot of stuff done. You can see photos of that in the photo section. Which also reminds me, I posted a ton of photos the other day. You should check them out, they are pretty sweet. So, if you were wondering that’s what I’ve been up to recently. Residential Services. Need I say more? I’d have to work really hard to suck at my job as much as those people do at theirs. You can download real cool Res Services backgrounds from the download section as well. I am sure that I’ll have more to add later this week about Res Services. For now though, I’m out of here. Thanks for you patients and have a good week. 840 words, if you were wondering.
